If you know what you are doing, that is, if you are not some beginner who assumes that the machine will do the work for you with little to no effort, you will be fine and LOVE this machine! I use a hand crank ceramic burr grinder for my espresso, avoid those horrible blade grinders, again, if you know what you are doing, you know the benefit, no, need for a perfectly ground bean to pull a perfect shot, hence, you will love this machine.

Take off the silly pannarello cover and boom, steam wand. If you know how to steam milk properly, this should not be a challenge for you. I looked EVERYwhere for the pannarello latte art style wand, assuming it was necessary to steam without the pannarello cover, but found on a single message board that they are the same, the latte art style is just longer, so I am all set now! For the portafilter, do not use more than ~14g otherwise you will have a hard time fitting the portafilter to the grouphead and you'll leak. When I seasoned my... Read more

Disappointing lack of durability and performance. Purchased Gaggia Color last December (2013). By December 26, 2013 the portafilter ring needed to be replaced. The Gaggia Color has a poor design where there are shims inside the ring where the filter holder locks into place. The replacement had extra glue as if they were aware of the design issue.

The replacement lasted 10 months before it too began leaking: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHC4plLbxd8&feature=youtu.be

Importika, the company that shipped the machine, has been great to work with, but replacing two rings in less than a year and having quality of espresso compromised is disappointing and not what I expected.

The espresso the machine makes was quite good. But this thing is not forgiving as far as tamp and grind. Yes; both are crucial to the performance; however, I am able still to make a very good espresso pull from a cheap Hamilton Beach pump machine that I purchased in 2004... Read more

This review is from: Gaggia 102534 Espresso-Color Semi-Automatic Espresso Machine, Red (Kitchen)
First, found out it was made in Romania and not Italy - kind of disappointing since a 15 year old Italian Gaggia I had lasted so long. Still, thought I should give it a chance...unboxed it and it's missing 2 parts - though likely an Amazon error as I did get a "used like new" from their warehouse deals (which was SUPPOSED to include all parts - NOT). They can't be blamed for the user manual, though, which has faulty english translation and it missing at least one integrally important diagram. Correct page numbers and bound like new, just badly written and missing information! Can't believe Gaggia didn't quality check something so basic. And yes, mine like others arrived with water and dampness which is not a grave concern but this missing parts infuriate me. Will update review if I keep this but already turned off that Gaggia has seemed to compromise on their quality of late.

This review is from: Cuisinart EM-200 Programmable 15-Bar Espresso Maker, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
This is one hell of a machine. It came perfectly packed to protect against any possible damage. I had it on my wish list for a while but couldn't make up my mind. It was selling for $199 but, when the price showed for $162 one day I knew that it would not stay for long. So I jumped at it.
My first brew was lousy, as I knew it would be. The first week wasn't all that great that at one point I almost made the mistake of sending it back. But I knew that I can't be like the guy trying to paint and blames the paint brush when he does a lousy job. So, by 10 days I was making cappuccino that would rival the best of them. And like my brother says, these machines work better after they've seasoned. Here I am 2 months later and I am quite happy with my purchase. So much so that each time I think of going out for breakfast and start thinking of the coffee I am going to get there I always without fail decide against it and stay home with my Cuisinart. Great machine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great machine, here's my notes..., August 20, 2010
This review is from: Cuisinart EM-200 Programmable 15-Bar Espresso Maker, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
I've had this machine now 4 months. I've had many machines before it, including the ever popular DeLonghi. This is an amazing machine, but there are a few things to know.

1. All espresso machines, and even some coffee machines, need to be primed. If there is water in the tank, yet it's not pumping but making noise, chances are you just need to prime it. Turn the steam knob just like in the manual, and if it fails, try again. You only have to do this when you first get the machine, or if you some how let it run dry.

2. The specs list this as not coming with a tamper, that's only partially correct. It comes with a plastic scoop / tamper combo thang. Before you get too annoyed with it, I recommend ordering "RSVP Terry's Tamper" (probably advertised on the same page). It's less than 7 bucks, and the small side fits this machines portafilter perfectly.

3. Some reviewers have knocked this machine because the "Filter keeps getting clogged". Here's a news... Read more

This review is from: Cuisinart EM-200 Programmable 15-Bar Espresso Maker, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
it is the perfect maker for the home. I was a barista for 3 years and this machine definitely makes café` worthy cappuccinos, mocha etc.... I love it and it is worth the money. I was discouraged at first when I read some of the complaints but I had a gut feeling to just bite the bullet and try it on my own....obviously I am very happy with my purchase. I think the people who had complaints were expecting the machine to be more like a robot. Yes you have to wait about a minute for the steamer portion to warm up before you use it but that's nothing compare to the cheapo cappuccino machine I use to get. Same for the brewing portion, you press the on button wait about a minute and a half for it warm before you make your espresso shot(s). It's worth the money and I hope you will to. 🙂

Thats me making espresso with my newest toy, a vintage La Pavoni Europiccola (late sixties, early seventies model). I'm using the portafilter of the Olympia Express, because it has much better balance and grip on the handle. The shot turned out a little uneven (wobbling mouse tail), but it was flawless in the taste department. 😉 The espresso made from a home roasted blend, roasted by a fellow coffee maniac with a modified popcorn maker.

This review is from: Mr. Coffee ECM21 4-Shot Espresso Machine and 8-Cup Coffeemaker Combo, Black (Kitchen)
I have had this machine since February and use it nearly every day. This is definitely one of the best coffeemakers I have ever owned, and I haven't had one single problem with it.

When I was deciding whether or not to buy it, some of the negative reviews had me a little skeptical. But I am SO glad that I took a chance. It was absolutely worth it for me.

I honestly don't see how some of the reviewers have had some of the problems that they have. Reviewer 'Joan of Arc' seemed to have quite a bit of leakage problems. It must have been a defective machine, because ours hasn't leaked one time -- not even a little drop. I'll go over a few of the issues she and some others had:

- The removable water reservoir (or "bucket" as she called it) for the coffeemaker is easy to remove and replace. If you don't want to take it out to fill it with water, just pour water into it. It is marked clearly and is easy to read even when stationed on the machine. No... Read more

This review is from: Mr. Coffee ECM21 4-Shot Espresso Machine and 8-Cup Coffeemaker Combo, Black (Kitchen)
I've mainly used this several times for making coffee as I'm unsure of how to make espresso (yet). I've noticed that the coffee tastes really good out of this unit, I know there's some that might say that it has a strange plastic taste to it I have not encountered that at all since owning this. Very easy to clean, very easy to get it up and running right out of the box.

I do have to say the instruction manual if you need it might seem a little ambiguous with a couple of the instructions, just takes a little bit of thinking to understand some of the operations of it. I would highly recommend that you pay special attention to the instructions on making espresso if you haven't done so before as you can quickly burn yourself if you try to clean the espresso portion of the machine immediately after making espresso. Let the espresso steam dissipate for a good while before trying to clean up on it to avoid any inadvertent steam discharges that might burn you.

This review is from: Mr. Coffee ECM21 4-Shot Espresso Machine and 8-Cup Coffeemaker Combo, Black (Kitchen)
This machine takes a little bit of practice to get down the operations (honestly, after one use of trial & error....I "got it")....I had to figure out that there are TWO SEPERATE power switches...I was brewing water (haha) AND espresso and didn't know what I was doing wrong....but I figured it out. And YES, I read the instructions! 🙂 Still a little complicated...but not bad. Like I said, I figured it out after one usage. The frother works GREAT-the coffee brews a little slow, but if that's what it take to make good coffee, then you aren't going to hear a complaint from me. Also...it's well-built and fun to use. 🙂 In other words...It's STAYING AT MY HOUSE! ;-D

This review is from: Timothy's World Coffee, Rainforest Espresso K-Cup Portion Pack for Keurig K-Cup Brewers (Pack of 50) (Grocery)
I hate weak coffee.

In fact, I hate it so much that most K-cup brands I've tried taste like I'm drinking colored water. Fortunately, that's not the case with Timothy's Rainforest Espresso, here's why.

Sure, I could go to the local grocery store after working 16 hours and spend upwards of $10 for a small box of K-Cups, or I can order them during my lunch break from the Amazon app on my phone and have them delivered directly to my door- and with Amazon Prime, I pay nothing for shipping and it's there in two days.

Timothy's Rainforest Espresso K-Cup provided a rich, and earthy flavor that was so fresh it would tickle my sinuses. As a man who works two jobs in order to pay the bills for my family, I need a coffee that has the punch to get me up in the morning, and keep me moving through the day without making me jittery or sick. Also, since I'm pinching pennies to make ends meet, the price can't be beat.

I would highly recommend you pick up... Read more

Read several reviews about this coffee. Let me first say it is coffee and not Espresso. It has a hint of Espresso flavor. It is a very dark roast bold flavor which is what I wanted. Read through all the reviews about the K-Cups blowing out and malfunctioning. I had this trouble with some other kinds. The reviewer stated they shook the K-Cup first before using it. Guess what? IT WORKS!!!!!!!!! No blowouts. Perfect cup every time. If you want pretty packaging then go to the store and spend more. Comes in a basic cardboard box filled to the brim with K-Cups. Opened the box (Which UPS smashed the hell out of) to double check the contents. All were fine and in fact there were 53 K-Cups instead of 50. Nice little bonus.

I would recommend this coffee to anyone who wants a bold dark roast coffee.

This review is from: Timothy's World Coffee, Rainforest Espresso K-Cup Portion Pack for Keurig K-Cup Brewers (Pack of 50) (Grocery)
My husband likes his coffee strong, bold, smooth and black. We've had had Keurig coffee brewing machines for the last three years, and have tried many, many bold coffees. Until we found the Rainforest Espresso (which I find using the espresso name strange for just a cup of self brewed coffee), he was not in love with his cup of coffee. The moment I served the very first cup of the Rainforest - his eyes lit up and I could tell he was pleasantly satisfied. It is the only type I'll buy for him - he won't go back.

I don't like my coffee that strong, and I can hardly even breathe in the odor of his just brewed cup - it is far too overpowering! But to each his own.

Do I think this clogs my machine? I really cannot be sure. We do the routine maintenance on our Keuring, including cleaning the metal spiked piercer with a toothpick. Since we've done that, we've had far less problems with the clogging and grounds. I truly believe that is a Keuring issue, not a... Read more
